I graduated from St. Edward’s University with my Master’s of Counseling Psychology in 2016 and I began my internship with IPNB in the Spring of 2017. My pre-graduate internship experience was with Austin Lakes Outpatient Hospital where I had the privilege of co-leading process groups for partially hospitalized patients. As a graduate student I began volunteering with children and adults in grief at Austin Center for Grief and Loss and I continued to co-lead a support group for young children in grief until the beginning 2018. My first experience in the world of social services was working nights and weekends at a shelter for survivors of domestic violence in Allentown, Pennsylvania. As a post-graduate intern, I continue to earn hours toward my licensure while giving back to the Austin community through Capital Area Counseling, which provides low-cost psychotherapy to adults, couples, kids, and families in Austin. I live in South Austin with my spouse of 10 years and several rescued dogs and cats.
